Robert Alexander Cook, the son of John McConnell Cook and Nancy E. Morton was born 1833 in Blount County, TN. He was almost twenty when he married in 1853 to Almira Ann Wooldridge in Salt Lake City, Utah. Almira Ann was born in Kentucky. By 1859, they’d settled on a ranch in Draper, Oregon. Almira’s life span was (1834-1908). “Uncle Bob”, as he became known, had the distinction of serving as Draper’s postmaster for 27 years, retiring when he was 87! His life span was (1833-1920).
